Breast Biopsy Excision System

Southern Tier Imaging is committed to providing your patients with the leading and most innovative technology available and is excited to announce the addition of the Suros ATEC System , a Breast Biopsy and Excision System, to our Breast Imaging services.

As you know, we already offer your patients our state-of-the- art Breast MRI and Breast Localization package, which includes the computer aided reading system, the CADSTREAM. Now, with the addition of the ATEC, we can offer your patients a minimally invasive Breast Biopsy that allows them to resume normal daily activities immediately following the biopsy procedure, leaving our facility with no stitches and minimal or no visible post-procedure scarring.

The ATEC Breast Biopsy and Excision System is viewed as one of the most efficient and preferred minimally invasive diagnostic breast biopsy options available today.  This  fully closed system uses vacuum-assisted technology to perform a true one-minute breast biopsy.  The unique ATEC feature of continuous tissue acquisition and a closed collection system allows for a fast, safe and easy breast biopsy experience for your patients.

We are very excited about bringing this breast biopsy option to the women of the Southern Tier and are available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have to insure your confidence when referring your patients for a breast biopsy in the future.

Southern Tier Imaging is proud to offer Breast MRI to our Community.

A study the International Breast MRI Consortium reported that “MRI may be better than mammography in detecting breast tumors in women who have a family history of or are genetically predisposed to breast cancer.” The study concludes that breast MRI is more than twice as effective as mammography in detecting the number and extent of breast cancer tumors.

Our comprehensive breast imaging package includes

A dedicated breast coil and specific software to produce high-quality, high resolution, dynamically enhanced breast images.

A computerized analysis system called the CADSTREAM to assist in the interpretation of the breast imaging data.

Two of our radiologists have been specially trained in breast imaging. Both radiologists also participated in an over-read program with a company in Cincinnati, Ohio, that specializes in breast MRI interpretation, ensuring thorough, up-to-date, competent reports.
